Privacy Policy

This policy explains what DevPlain collects, how analytics works and what choices you have. The short version: the text you paste into a tool stays in your browser, and we collect only anonymous, aggregate traffic statistics.

Data we collect

We do not ask for an account, and we do not store the text you paste into a tool. Every operation — parsing JSON, counting words, converting case, generating passwords, encoding URLs and Base64, converting CSV — runs locally in your browser, so the content of your documents and any generated secret never reaches our servers.

Like nearly every website, we receive standard technical data from your visit: your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring page and the pages you view. Our hosting provider processes this data to deliver the site, protect it against abuse and keep it available. We do not use it to build profiles of individual visitors.

Analytics

Aggregate traffic statistics come from Google Analytics 4, configured with IP anonymisation. We use this data to understand which tools are useful and where pages fail — for example, which browsers report errors. Analytics records are not linked to an identity: we do not connect them to names, email addresses or tool input, because tool input never reaches us in the first place.

Cookies and consent

A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser. DevPlain itself sets no tracking cookies. Visitors in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom see a consent banner served by a Google-certified consent management platform (CMP) before any analytics or advertising cookies may be set. Strictly necessary cookies, which keep the site working, do not require consent; analytics and marketing cookies are set only after you accept them.

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time through the "Cookie settings" link in the footer, and you can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Declining analytics cookies does not limit any tool: every feature on this site works without them.

Sharing and retention

We do not sell personal data. Analytics data is shared with Google as our analytics processor, and technical request data is processed by our hosting provider. Both retain it only as long as needed to provide and secure the service, in line with their standard retention practices.

Your choices

You can browse all tools with cookies blocked, use an ad blocker, or contact us to ask about the data associated with your visit. Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data, and you may object to processing or lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.

Updates and contact

We may update this policy as the site evolves; the revision date below changes whenever the content does. Privacy questions go tohello@devplain.com — we answer every message.
